I have been making my own plant based milk using nuts for a very long time. A few years ago I started feeling like it was really wasteful to just throw the left over pulp out. So I did some searching and found that a lot of people used the leftover pulp in different recipes. I experimented with a few that I found; some worked and some didn't, but over the years I started creating my own. So I wanted to give you three that are particularly delicious and easy to make as well.
Put all ingredients in a food chopper or use an immersion blender and blend until smooth.
Add some water if its too thick.
Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
I cup nut pulp
2 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp sea salt
⅛ tsp probiotic powder (If you have probiotic pills, just open them up and pour out powder)
Enough water to make smooth to blend
Blend all of the ingredients until smooth and well combined.
Put mixture in a nut bag and squeeze out excess liquid.
Put nut bag with mixture in a small flat container and press into a wheel shape
Let it sit for two days in a dry warm place
Put in the fridge and let sit for a day and then its ready
1 cup nut pulp
1/4 tsp Basil, dried
1/2 tsp Garlic powder
1/4 tsp Onion powder
1/4 tsp Oregano, dried
1/2 tsp Parsley flakes, dried
1/2 tsp Black pepper, ground
1/2 tsp Salt
Spread nut pulp thin on a dehydrator tray and dehydrate for 24 hours. If you don't own a dehydrator you can spread it thin on a baking sheet and bake it on 170 with the oven cracked until completely dry
Put dehydrated nut pulp in a blender and blend until fine
Empty blender into a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients and mix until well combined
Store in an airtight container (does not need to be refrigerator)
I hope you enjoy these recipes. Let me know which one you decide to make and what you think in the comments below. Bon Appetit!
