Two Healthy Summer cocktails that will make you feel good in more ways than one

Who says you have to choose between being healthy and enjoying a few cocktails with friends? Im big believer in keeping your body clean with healthy ingredients and minimal junk, and for me drinking is no different. I try to minimize sugars in my cocktails and often stick to simple drinks like tequila and club soda with lime. But I recently started wondering if I could not only minimize the junk in my drinks but also boost their nutritional content. So I created two summer cocktails that are refreshing and contain ingredients that are good for you so that you can drink without the guilt. I hope you enjoy them as much as Stasia and I did while testing them out!



Strawberry Basil Lemonade

Ingredients:


Directions:

  • Whisk together water and collagen until well combined

  • Muddle 4 basil leaves in the bottom of a cocktail shaker

  • Fill shaker with ice and add the collagen mixture as well as the rest of the ingredients

  • Shake vigorously

  • Pour contents into two glasses and add more ice to each glass

  • Garnish with a basil leaf and lemon



Minty Mexican Mule

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lime

  • Small bunch of mint

  • 4 ounces blanco tequila

  • Ginger Kombucha


Directions:

  • Muddle lime and mint in the bottom of a cocktail shaker

  • Fill shaker with ice and add tequila

  • Shake vigorously

  • Empty contents evenly into two copper mugs

  • Fill mugs with more ice

  • Top off with Kombucha and stir

  • Garnish with a mint spring and lime
